The origins of Sprint
Sprint is a communications services company that has over 56 million connections. Sprint can trace its beginnings to Brown Telephone Company which was established in 1899. Brown provided telephone service to a rural area in Kansas. Today, Sprint has over 30,000 employees - a far cry from its humble beginnings.
It also has quite a few subsidiary brands, including Virgin Mobile, Assurance Wireless, and Boost Mobile. Its headquarters are still in Kansas today, and it's run by CEO Marcelo Claure. Sprint is one of the biggest providers of long distance calls in the United States.
Prince Royce's beginnings at Sprint
Singer Prince Royce started out from humble beginnings - at a Sprint store to be exact. He worked as a store host at one of their locations in the Bronx. With the money from his first paycheck, Royce (then known as Geoffrey Royce Rojas) booked a studio, where he recorded his first demo.
The demo then helped Royce write his first album, which helped launch him on the music scene. He broke into the U.S. scene with “Stuck on a Feeling”, his first English-language single. Over the course of his career, he’s been nominated for over 150 music awards and has won more than 60.
Today, instead of Royce working to sell Sprint’s products, Sprint works with Prince Royce to sell his music.
